Why I chose to make myself a brand

ree

I never planned to become a brand.I just wanted to tell stories: with light, faces, and emotion.

But somewhere along the way, between client calls, decks, and photoshoots that turned into strategy sessions, I realized something: if you want to protect your art, you have to build a business around it.

Otherwise, someone else will define its value for you.

That realization changed everything.Because suddenly, it wasn’t just about taking good pictures anymore, it was about creating a system that lets me keep doing what I love without losing the soul of it.

Now my days are split between creative chaos and spreadsheets. Between shooting a portrait that captures someone’s truth, and structuring a campaign that brings brands and emotions into alignment. Between wanting to stay invisible behind the lens, and knowing that visibility is part of the work.

The world doesn’t separate art and business anymore. If you want to stay free as a creative, you have to be both the artist and the architect.

That means learning to talk about money without guilt. It means building partnerships that go deeper than transactions. And it means understanding that your energy is part of your brand just as much as your portfolio is.

For me, entrepreneurship isn’t the opposite of creativity, it’s the infrastructure that allows it to thrive. It’s how I make space for real connection, real emotion, and real growth.

It's a rollercoaster but once you've got yourself a seat there is no way out of it.
